Tony Meloto: ending poverty by building communities in the Philippines.

Artikel auf Deutsch

Gawad Kalinga is a Philippine-based movement that aims to end poverty by building self-sustaining communities. Homeless people get a house and a piece of land and get empowered through workshops where they learn how to grow their own food.

I had the honor to meet and interview founder and leader Tony Meloto at the so-called “Enchanted Farm” in Bulacan in 2011. Watch the video to find out more about the Enchanted Farm and learn more from founder Tony Meloto, leader of GK Partnerships Jonah Pernia and Jun Dimarucot.

The government can’t solve the problem of poverty alone. We can’t solve the poverty problem alone.

– Jonah Pernia, Head of Gawad Kalinga Partnerships
